Bikram Yoga

The original Hot Yoga at 40ºc is a wonderful physical workout that improves physical strength, flexibility and balance while increasing mental clarity and concentration. The session is 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, practiced in a 40-degree hot room. The heat accelerates the rate of change within the body, improves circulation, helps eliminate toxins and decreases the risk of injury during stretching. It is appropriate for all ages and levels.

The Bikram method was created for today’s people because of our stressful problems, bad eating habits and aggressive lifestyle. It has been designed to prevent illness and injury, help with weight loss, and limit the effects of aging. A regular practice of Bikram Yoga will improve concentration, patience, decrease stress, relieve backaches and headaches for numerous benefits. The effect of using the mind to strengthen the body and the body to enrich the mind helps to obtain rapid growth in daily life.

Over time you will learn how to focus your mind and control your breathing, bringing you into balance between hard work and harmony. As you improve this relationship you will realize the real meaning of yoga: the union of body, mind, and spirit.

Anti Gravity

A 60-minute class without heat for all levels. If you have pelvic, hip or knee pain, experiencing incontinence or a prolapsed organ and want to tone your body this class is for you. Through various yoga postures, ballet bar training, and supported inversions you will challenge yourself in a non-striving, safe, and fun way. For those that think handstands or backbends at 50 years old or any age are impossible, you will be amazed! NOT JUST FOR WOMEN.

Yin Yang Yoga

A 90 minute class that brings together the benefits of 2 styles of yoga into one class, Bikram Yoga and Yin Yoga.  It is the concept of how seemingly opposite or contrary forces may be complementary and needed to maintain balance.

Yin yoga is a slower practice where postures are held for longer. It works on the deep, dense connective tissues and joints in the body. Yin is cool, slow, passive, downward, and inward moving. In contrast, Bikram Yoga (the Yang) is a more active practice that works on the muscles and blood flow, building strength, stamina and flexibility. Yang is more active, fiery, upward and outward moving.

By combining the 2 forces of Yin and Yang elements in one class we create a powerful balance of energy, flexibility, strength leaving the body to feel invigorated, relaxed and a focused and meditative mind. So powerful.

38

Intermediate Hatha yoga class is where we practice the aspects of Pranayama (breathing techniques), Asanas (physical yoga postures), Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses), Dharana (concentration) y Dhyana (meditation).

The class draws on the rich advance Bikram yoga practice of 84 postures. In each class different postures are practiced depending on the level and concentration of the class. Collectively we work together in almost silence, fine tuning our concentration and going beyond preconceived concepts in a non-striving and non-judgmental environment. You will learn new postures and abilities; it goes beyond the physical. As one student said, “I finally understand Shanti Shanti.”

This class is not open to everyone. It requires that you have completed the “Taller 38”, maintain a regular yoga practice and have been approved to join the club.

If you are interested let Lucia know at the school.
