So passionate and excited about yoga I wanted to “spread the word” to as many people as possible about this amazing yoga and its benefits. And so it was: I opened 4 schools in both Madrid and Barcelona with the idea to create a safe place to practice and share the experience. I have seen the life changing affects this yoga has when you do a regular practice.

Unfortunately, and to my own disappointment Bikram Choudhury has been unethical with his power. I therefore need to be clear that I have never given Bikram money to use his name or to offer his yoga, taken money to teach at his teacher trainings or paid any franchise fees or been part of a franchise. I am not associated with Bikram Choudhury and he has never taught or did seminars in any of my 4 yoga schools while I was the owner. I have always separated what is the yoga from who is the man.

The yoga postures are over 1000 years old, he put them together with his guru Bishnu Gosh, adding the heat in a series that bears his name. I therefore do feel it would be incorrect not to call this yoga Bikram. I condemn and am appalled by his behavior and actions. I support the women and men that were victims of his abuse. Someday the studio will change its name but as of now calling it Bikram Yoga is not showing my support to the man or disrespecting his victims; it is the labor of over 18 years.

Bikram Yoga Disclaimer Bikram Yoga Barcelona is a female run and independently owned yoga school. In 2003 I opened my first school in Madrid.
